Safe Banking for Seniors

Thank you for your interest in the ABA Foundation’s financial education programs. Registration is currently closed and will reopen in 2026. Please check back in late January 2026 for the latest updates.

What you’ll need to register in 2025:

  • The communities you expect to reach (participating city/state)
  • Number of people you intend to reach (estimates are welcome)
  • Number of staff volunteers (estimates are welcome)

About Safe Banking for Seniors

The free national program, sponsored by the ABA Foundation, provides bankers with tools and resources to connect with their local communities on these topics:

  • Identifying and avoiding scams
  • Preventing identity theft 
  • Choosing a financial caregiver
  • Acting as a responsible financial caregiver 
  • Understanding powers of attorney 
  • Choosing executors
  • Planning for stages of cognitive decline

Tools and resources include presentation guides, slides, handouts, social media posts, infographics, participant activities, and more.

Flexible Participation

Banks of all sizes can access Safe Banking for Seniors for free. Registered participants will receive an email with a link to all Safe Banking for Seniors materials.

There is no wrong way to utilize Safe Banking for Seniors! We have added new turnkey resources to use in any way you see fit to inform and support your community. Get involved your way — in person, on social media, or beyond!
